2014 Chevrolet Impala We’ve done just about everything but have a complete first drive of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala. We’ve taken an up-close look at the styling, equipment, and specifications. This last week at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, we got our best look yet at Chevrolet’s new fullsize sedan. Based on our Refreshing or Revolting post, most of you think the 2014 Impala is a major improvement over its predecessor.

2014 Chevrolet Impala
Even the thought of a four-cylinder in a nearly two-ton sedan doesn’t seem as outrageous and controversial as it did when it was first announced. At the L.A. show, Chevrolet announced that the 2014 Impala would get the latest generation of the MyLink interface, allowing for simplified voice commands and more intuitive operation.
And although it’s a significant new model that will likely sell in high volumes, it can no longer legitimately be called Chevrolet’s flagship sedan, with that distinction going to the upcoming Chevrolet SS, a high-performance rear-wheel-drive sedan based on Holden’s VF Commodore. Fans of rear-drive V-8 performance will no doubt flock to the new sedan, which GM’s Mark Reuss has likened to a four-door Corvette.
But for the vast majority of shoppers looking for a fullsize sedan, the new Impala should fill the bill nicely, offering ample room, comfort and refinement at an affordable price, and well below the $50,000+ price of its platform-mate Cadillac XTS. Are you still looking forward to Chevrolet’s new fullsize as much as when it was first revealed at this Year’s New York Auto Show? Share your thoughts on the upcoming big Chevy sedan below.
