Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Concept Mattel and Chevrolet are fond of pointing out that a 1:64-scale 1967 Camaro was one of the first 16 Hot Wheels cars offered. Now, at the Specialty Equipment Market Association show (SEMA) in Las Vegas, Chevrolet is unveiling its 1:1 scale Hot Wheels car as a package available on 2LT V-6 and 2SS V-8 coupes and convertibles. Chevrolet and Ford both understand that such "buzz" models extend the lifecycle of these relatively impractical two-door pony/musclecars. Chevrolet has maintained a slim, though solid lead over Mustang sales since it put the Camaro on sale in the 2010 model year. Chevrolet previously showed off a fanciful Hot Wheels-inspired concept car at several auto shows, but now the company has decided to put the car into limited production. The Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition goes on sale in early 2013.

The Camaro Hot Wheels Edition includes a ZL1 rear spoiler on coupes, ZL1 front upper grille on both body styles, a ground effects package with a front splitter and rocker panel treatment, black 21-inch wheels with red outline stripe (mimicking the redwall tires popular on musclecars and used on Hot Wheels in the late '60s), two-tone matte hood graphic and taillight panel "blackout" graphic, fender flame graphics, Hot Wheels grille, decklid logos, and the Chevrolet MyLink touch-screen infotainment system. Red and black seat stitching and the Hot Wheels logo are embroidered on the leather-trimmed front seats. There are Hot Wheels Edition flame decals inside the doors and logoed sill plates. In other words, the Hot Wheels package isn't for everyone, though if you are looking at a Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, or Dodge Challenger already, it might just be your style. Adding the package to a Camaro 2LT or 2SS costs $6995. Would you pull the trigger and order one? Tell us in the comments section below.
