As roads and airports get slower, trains go ever faster. Countries like China, Japan, Germany and France are introducing some of the fastest trains in the world and making train journey a beauty. Train transportation is becoming more popular around the world thanks to those fastest trains. The beauty of high-speed trains is that they provide a decent alternative to air. You have the opportunity to travel hundreds of miles in a comparatively low cost. Let's take a look at some of the fastest trains in the world.


1. CRH380A, China


With a top speed of 302 mph, China's CRH380A is the number one fastest train in the world. The CRH380A is a Chinese electric high-speed train that was developed by China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Limited (CSR).




2. Transrapid TR-09, Germany


Germany's Transrapid TR-09 is the second fastest train in the world with a top speed of 279 mph. It's a high-speed monorail train that uses magnetic levitation (mag-lev) technology.

3. Shinkansen, Japan


Japan's Shinkansen comes third in the ranking of the fastest trains in the world with a top speed of 275 mph. Shinkansen is a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan operated by four Japan Railways Group companies.

4. Magnetic Levitation, China


Shanghai's Magnetic Levitation (maglev) train has a top speed of 270 mph. The train floats above its tracks using magnetic power and covers an 18-mile trip from downtown to the airport in just 8 minutes.

 5. TGV Reseau, France


The French-owned TGV Reseau (TGV-R) were built by Alstom and are based on the earlier TGV Atlantique. The train can run up to 236.12 mph speed.
